Bob Ross, host of the PBS television show, The Joy of Painting (which ran for more than a decade) would have been 70 years old today. To honor the artist’s birthday, a Google Doodle (temporary replacement of Google’s logos stylized to commemorate holidays or events) of Bob Ross is being showcased on Google’s homepage. Incredibly, The Joy of Painting, is still the “most-popular, most watched art show” to date. The television show began in 1982, unrehearsed, unaltered, and low budget, and went on to it become one of the gems of the Public Broadcasting Station.
